For as long as I can remember I've wanted to understand how things work; that curiosity is what pulled me toward mechanical engineering in the first place. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time restoring and working on my own car, which scratches the same itch: pull it apart, figure out why it does what it does, put it back together better. When I'm not in the shop, I'm usually playing guitar, training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or reading into philosophy — I like slow, structural thinking as much as I like fast, mechanical problems.

Designed a Venturi flow meter that applies Bernoulli's principle to determine flow rate from the pressure differential across a converging–diverging throat. The body was modelled in Fusion 360, and a short Arduino IDE sketch reads the pressure/flow sensor input and converts it into a live flow-rate estimate. The project was chosen for its direct relevance to Alberta's oil, gas, and process-instrumentation industry.

Designed and built a ramp-lift mechanism that raises a 250g payload 20cm vertically on two AA batteries, applying incline force balance (F = mg sinθ + μmg cosθ) and energy-minimum calculations (E = mgh) to guide the design. LEGO train track was integrated with the wooden ramp to constrain a 3D-printed wheeled carrier, cutting friction variability and eliminating derailment. Iterative testing brought trial time down from 8.0s to a best of 4.7s while holding the system fully stable — completed as a 4-person team project for ENGG 160.
